Gat Leedm Logistics’ history is one of partnership that brings decades of transportation experience together.

The company was formed in 2012 as a partnership between the Metlakatla Development Corporation and Williams Moving and Storage – a firm that was founded in 1929 and had been servicing the Prince Rupert area for more than 40 years – and Island Tug and Barge – whose history of marine service in B.C. dates back to 1958.

Growth for Gat Leedm came quickly, with a high demand for container movement to and from the CBSA container examination facility on Ridley Island. With that, the company’s fleet grew and more and more experienced and professional drivers joined the Gat Leedm family.

After years of growing to meet the needs of the increased cargo making use of Fairview Terminal the Metlakatla Development Corporation, the economic development arm of the Metlakatla First Nation, became sole owners of the company in 2015.

Today Gat Leedm, which means “strength” in the Tsimshian language of Sm’algyax, is the go-to logistics service provider in Prince Rupert, with a fully-bonded warehouse, as an agent for Van Kam, Clark Freightways and a fleet of vehicles for any and all purposes.
